(a + b) + c = x

a = Aaron

b = Scouts

c = Pocket Knife

Solve for x.

You guessed it, he cut himself.

Last night for scouts they were going to learn about knife safety, and so the den leader asked the scouts to bring a pocket knife for their Bear Den Meeting.

Since Aaron didn't have a pocket knife, I stopped on the way home from work and bought him a standard 2-blade Buck Knife ($15 from Wal*Mart). All the while, I thought he was going to cut himself. I knew that he would cut himself.

Anyways, when Min came back from Scouts with him, Aaron had his finger in a BandAid (leaders were prepared). I seems that they were carving "soap boats" when Aaron's knife slipped and hit the tip of his index finger on his left hand. He was being so careful... but hey, these things happen.

Once he saw that he had drew blood he called for a leader, stayed calm, then looked at his finger again and passed out. Well, he didn't pass out... he just got really light-headed and had to sit down.

So that was his first experience with a pocket knife.

Oh the joys of Cub Scouting!

Extreme Make-Over: Our Edition (The End)

Okay... the house is officially done! That is... officially sided and re-windowed.

First off, here are some before pics (you can click on them to make them bigger).

This is our sad chimney. You can clearly see that it is very weather worn and the compressed board is rotting and falling off.

Below the front room windows and above the garage there were "water boxes" that were rotting and falling off. With one kick, one of the workers made the entire box come loose. We are glad they are gone... but it looks nasty.

Here is the front of the house (and that white car is the rental that I had while my car was getting fixed). This is the last time that you will see it this way...

And now for something new!

A new front of the house! Complete with new windows and a repainted front door and garage door!

The chimney looks a heckuva alot better now!

Here's the back of the house (ignore the landscaping... or lack there of... that's next on the list).

Here is the side of the house. I love that the holes that were in the side of the house are now covered up and there are no ways for the vermin to enter the roof and walls (we have a history of opossums, raccoons, and squirrels).

The siding is an almond colored molded vinyl and the trim is evergreen metal and fabricated on site.

Here is the new window at the front of the house above the door. Look how clean and new it is!

We are glad to have the window in the game room replaced. About a month ago, Alex cracked the window and caused a few pieces to slide out and fall in between the panes. Here he is standing next to the new window (which he promises to be careful around).

... and lastly, Andee... cheesing it up by the new kitchen window.

Now with this done we have another few things to turn our attention to... but not right now.
